Piyal Kariyawasam’s latest short story collection, Ridee reyaki kalu diviyeki’
(Silver Night Black Leopard) is now available from Sarasavi Publishers.
It is Piyal’s sixth work of fiction, and brings together an eclectic collection of tales written over the past decade.
Beyond the vivid urban and rural tales and their insightful characters, this collection provides valuable extras: a short glossary and a glimpse into Kariyawasam’s writing process and inspirations.

The back-cover blurb states:
These stories draw inspiration from a vast lineage—from our ancient folklorists to modern science fiction writers, as well as storytellers working across art forms, both local and global. Their wild, eclectic narratives provided the fertile ground from which these tales could blossom.
